The notes sent to the board for this meeting are here.
Is anything being done or discussed about replacing SKKY’s?
This was mentioned, but not discussed much. Some would like to have it back, but this seems to be mainly an Essex issue.
Would anyone like to share discussions during the Zoom meeting last night? Sorry I wasn’t able to attend!
Our notes from this meeting will appear as a comment here, “soon”.
There are some owners who want to put their units on Airbnb LEGALLY for more than 30 days. I just found out that management is charging a $200 move in and $200 move out fee just like they do when you move in with furniture. Nowhere in the Airbnb rules does it mention that at all.
It’s highway robbery! Even if PMP has to do some paperwork (a parking pass is all I can think of), it certainly doesn’t cost $200. People are coming in with 2 suitcases. Should we circulate a petition or what? It is ridiculous. And honestly, it’s discouraging owners to do things legally here.
What are we doing about getting our market back?
I have modified a message from Susan Bursk to include the way to contact LA County. She wrote, “Would you be sure to let owners/residents know how important it is for them to attend the outreach meeting that Public Works is organizing on June 13th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in Burton Chace Park. If people would like to attend but aren’t able to drive or walk there, they should call the Management office and we will coordinate rides/carpools and/or shuttles.
Showing up in numbers makes a difference. Thanks so much”
The way to contact the county is the middle of the second page of link below.

Hi Fred and Donna, since I have been away, my neighbor sent me this letter she received from the County of Los Angeles, Dept of Public Works. From what i can understand the dept is going to have two outreach meeting to discuss amendments to the LA building codes which will require all high-rise non-ductile concrete buildings to be seismically retrofitted. I am unclear on what this is or how it will affect MCC.
is this something we need to look into?
A copy of the letter received
We would like to know why management didn’t inform Center Tower residents about the USPS mail theft that happened within the last two months? We are missing mail and a passport and other residents we know are also missing mail including bills. Someone got ahold of the master USPS key and stole mail. Our management knew and didn’t tell us. When confronted, they were very hesitant to confirm or give any details and shared VERY little. What else are they not telling us?
What is happening with the board/management company in regards to negotiations with the county to lower our HOA’s and land lease fees? It seems they are perpetually increasing.
Evidently there are some signs of progress, but things move very slowly, and it will be some time before anything is known for certain. Maybe in a few months we will know more.
I am not able to attend the meeting due to a work conflict but I have serious concerns about the financials with the restaurant, the restaurant bylaws and lack of a proper restaurant board election. Our cost of goods is double that of restaurant standards. NO restaurant financials have been available to owners for over 6 months. What can we do about this?
Hi Fred and Donna, we are out of the country so unable to jump on the next Owners meeting. I was just following up on our request for an air compressor for bike tires. Curious if the board has heard this request and the outcome. Thank you, Mary Gerlick 1123CTN
Would like some clarity on the following
What is the status of another cost of living adjustment or special assessment?
What is the status of the repairs on the outside hot tub?
Can we influence the $35k cost for missing gym towels? there must be a better way.
Will we have a new tenant for the market?
is there an update on the restaurant.
Do we know the status of replacing all of the gym equipment – is this a necessary item at this time?
How much do we pay security – it is very poor.
The value of our units has diminished due to the massive lawsuits and inability to get financing, disgusting condition of the property, closure of the restaurant, car wash and sundry store.
We want to let you know what feedback we have had from the board, on the value
they see in our Owners’ Group. What can we do to get more visibility and be
more effective?
Security is a hot topic for many. Your thoughts?
Amenities have a cost and provide valuable benefits. How to balance.
Maintenance is similar, except some items carry large long term costs if
neglected.
The meeting notes for our last meeting are here.
Hi,
